“What is the Marpole you imagine?” This is the question chART asked two high school classes from Churchill Secondary and Ideal Mini School. Through workshops with photographer Adam Stenhouse, the students responded with photo-collaged images of their creative ideas for Marpole’s future. This project was developed in conjunction with the Planners from the City of Vancouver as they developed the Marpole Community Plan. It allowed the Planners access to the views and creative visions of a demographic that, prior to the project, they had been unable to make significant connections with. Given that the Community Plan will be in effect for the next thirty years, the input of this generation was vital, as the Plan is more likely to have long-term influence on this group.
