Year: 2012
Lead Artist: Anthony Schrag
Shrag utilizes methods of street intervention and conflict resolution to engage with a public audience. For this two-day project, the artist activated benches as sites of engagement. On day 1, the public was able to express their issues and concerns about the community in the form of a staged protest. On day 2, the placards created during the previous intervention formed the basis for conversations between members of the public and community leaders, including a Marpole historian, a Musqueam storyteller, and a local council representative.
